The project was divided into two stages. The first stage involved the lighting of the Maserati showroom and the La Squadra restaurant located in one of the showroom sections. The second stage involved the lighting of the Ferrari showroom.
In this project, it was necessary to reflect the lighting concept received from the Italians. The concept included guidelines not only for the design of fixtures but also for the quality parameters of light, lighting intensities, the possibility of directing fixtures, and the ability to control both the color and intensity of light. Luminous surfaces were used in the exhibition areas, supplemented with spot lighting and light lines. The lighting control system allowed for different lighting configurations for different areas of the showroom, depending on the changing exhibition. The lighting provides great viewing comfort and highlights the significant elements of the exhibited vehicles.
The car showroom lighting was adapted to its specific character, with great care for the high quality of lighting fixtures and aesthetic solutions. Fixtures with an appropriate color rendering index were used in areas where the reproduction of the color of the exhibited cars is of particular importance to achieve their actual color. We used downlights, spots, linear lighting, as well as Tunable White and CASAMBI control.
The downlight fixtures were integrated into the interior design, providing subtle lighting while meeting rigorous requirements. These fixtures undoubtedly give priority to the architecture of the facility and the exhibition used. Thanks to the simple design, attention is focused on the presented exhibition - and this was the most important aspect in the showroom.
The use of linear fixtures made it possible to provide uniform lighting in spaces where it was necessary. Additionally, this type of lighting influenced the diversification and "enlivenment" of the ceiling. As a complement, spotlights were used, both as general lighting and accent lighting. This solution worked perfectly in the car showroom, thanks to its exceptional flexibility of use, both in terms of installation possibilities and the ability to direct the light stream to selected exhibition elements. All fixtures used have a long service life and do not require time-consuming maintenance.
Based on the guidelines received from the Italians, our design department prepared a lighting intensity project to meet the intensity criteria, and we provided luminaire designs that met the design criteria. The implementation of the investment also included a lighting test to meet the criteria for light quality parameters, mainly color rendering. The test also concerned the possibility of meeting the criteria for luminaire directionality, so that the lighting could be modified depending on the changing exposure. Color rendering in such a place is extremely important - the ability to change the color temperature and intensity simultaneously in order to create the appropriate atmosphere of the place. To this end, we used Tunable White lighting fixtures, which allow for smooth adjustment of color temperature from warm to cool white, and thanks to the use of CASAMBI control modules, luminaire management is done via smartphones. Thanks to the possibility of flexible control, the investor has the ability to emphasize product features, bring out unique character or colors at any time.
The effect was achieved at the highest level of professionalism.
As a curiosity: During the annual dealers meeting, the Ferrari showroom in Katowice received a prestigious award in the competition for the best Ferrari showroom in the world.
